Resources for Referring Providers
This page is to support referring or referring on behalf of providers who submit eReferral eConsults (previously called Advice Requests) & Referrals (previously called Consult Requests).
What tools are available for my patient’s condition?
Consider using clinical pathways, or algorithms of evidence-informed, clinician-recommended interdisciplinary care to help a patient with a specific health condition or concern move progressively toward optimal health outcomes.
Clinical pathways are available through Alberta’s Pathway Hub at albertapathways.ca

A referral is needed. What do I need to include with it?
Use Referral Pathways which are guidelines that include instructions, labs and diagnostic imaging required when submitting a referral.
For specialties in eReferral, we are working to ensure the labs and diagnostic imaging required match what is listed on the referral pathways. Please refer to the pathways for the latest information and ensure you attach any labs and diagnostic imaging with your referral.
