Submitting Data to Alberta Netcare

The Integration Coordination Centre (ICC) works with clinics that are looking to contribute content to Alberta Netcare. The data types include but are not limited to:
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Such as MRIs, MRAs, CT Scans, X-Rays, Ultrasounds, etc. and associated imaging
  • Cardiology: Echos, ECGs, holters, Carotid Artery Duplex, etc. and associated images
  • Laboratory Results
  • Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)

Request to Submit Data to Alberta Netcare via ICC Process

Begin by submitting an ICC-Netcare intake form. If you have any questions, or need assistance with filling the form, please contact the ICC team at ICC@ahs.ca.

Some data types such as consults, patient summaries, and operative reports can be submitted via CII/CPAR. For more information, visit the CII/CPAR webpage

What does the ICC do?

The ICC team supports clinics in integrating their data with Alberta Netcare. They also provide guidance to clinics that are already contributing content to Alberta Netcare but would like to make modifications such as adding additional report types, or more physical locations, etc.

The ICC also manages the intake process for clinics wishing to participate in services such as eDelivery. They manage the initiative, and help ensure smooth communication between clinics, EMRs, and Alberta Netcare, to ensure accurate and secure exchange of health information.

How long does it take to add new content to Alberta Netcare?

It takes about 3-4 months, though this can vary based on factors like vendor response time, testing, and content complexity.

What are the prerequisites for contributing content to Alberta Netcare?

To contribute content, you will need:
  • An EMR system that can send Health Level 7 (HL7) messages.
  • Sample reports and messages from the EMR system that meet Alberta Netcare’s business and technical requirements.
  • Approval for the report types you want to contribute (some report types may require review by a clinical working group).
